Men today get conflicting messages from women and society about how they are supposed to express their masculinity emotionally, spiritually, physically, and sexually. It can be frustrating on more than one level, and guys are often lacking sexual confidence or left hiding some part of themselves in order to feel like they can function.
Cockfidence, by Celeste Hirschman and Danielle Harel, is probably one of the best books for guys that want to genuinely improve their confidence (in and out of the bedroom) and the way they interact with women. It is a practical book that goes far beyond just giving sex tips; it shows men how they can be true to themselves and be amazing lovers at the same time.
They address many of the dilemmas that guys encounter today, such as, do women want a man that is sensitive or powerful? The answer: powerful; essentially women want the elusive sensitive alpha male. A man that is powerful because he is in touch with his true self, and his body. They write:
Very few women will tell you that they are excited by men who live their lives from their own desires and passions because they are also frightened of it. It is exactly this slightly unsettled feeling that causes women to respect, desire, and want to f— you over and over again. Complete certainty that you will do what they expect you to do may give women a false sense of security, but it also breeds boredom and contempt. Women’s excitement is inspired by your tenacious commitment to who you are and what you want.
The key is being true to yourself because that is a huge part of what women really want. The goal of this book is not how to pick up attractive women and sleep with them, it’s about becoming a better man with a better understanding of yourself, your own desires, and actually getting what you really want out of dating and relationships. Because at the end of the day, few things are more satisfying than knowing deep down that your partner wants you, all of you, and you can deliver.
One reviewer said that the book should really be required reading for young men in high school. Women can also get a lot out of reading Cockfidence as it will help them better understand the man in their life.
